Privacy Policy
This Policy describes the personal information CommishCast collects, how it is used and disclosed, how long it is retained, and the rights available to you.
This document is currently under legal review and may be updated. Last updated: August 2026.
1.Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the CommishCast website, applications and related services (the “Service”), and forms part of the Terms of Service. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms.
2.Information we collect
Account information. Your email address, which we store and to which we have access — it is used to authenticate you and to communicate with you. Your password is stored only as a one-way cryptographic hash and is not accessible to us in readable form; we cannot retrieve it for you.
League information. The league identifier you provide and the data exposed by the associated fantasy platform, including team names, manager names, rosters, matchups, scores, transactions and standings.
User Content. Commissioner notes, league insights, nicknames, weekly picks and associated commentary, draft comments, season predictions, submissions to a Commissioner, and Episode ratings.
Payment information. Processed entirely by our payment processor. We store a customer reference and subscription status only. We do not receive, process or store full payment card numbers.
Usage and device data. Pages accessed, Episodes played and playback progress, together with standard technical records including IP address, browser type, device identifiers and timestamps.
3.How we use information
We process personal information for the following purposes:
- to provide the Service, including generating, recording and delivering Episodes for your League
- to create and administer your account, authenticate you, and process payment
- to send service communications, including notification that an Episode is available and notices regarding billing or account status
- to maintain, secure, troubleshoot and improve the Service, including analyzing which segments of an Episode are played or skipped
- to enforce our Terms and Acceptable Use Policy, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with legal obligations
- with your consent where required, to send product and marketing communications
We may in future use aggregated and de-identified data to select advertising — patterns observed across many leagues, and not the identity or contents of any individual or League. We do not do so at present and will update this Policy before we do.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
4.Disclosure to third parties
We disclose personal information to service providers who process it on our behalf, under contract, and only as necessary to perform their function. The categories of recipient are:
- a cloud hosting provider, which operates the website
- a database and authentication provider, which stores account and League data
- a payment processor, which handles card processing and billing
- artificial intelligence providers, which generate Episode scripts and synthesize the host voices
- an email service provider, which delivers notifications
- error-monitoring and product-analytics providers, which report faults and usage
We identify these by function rather than by name. If you require the identity of a specific processor — for a compliance review, a data subject request, or a vendor assessment — request it through the contact form and we will provide it.
We may also disclose personal information where required by law or legal process, to enforce our Terms, to protect the rights, property or safety of CommishCast or its users, or in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case we will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
5.Visibility within a League
Access to information within a League is restricted as follows, and these restrictions are enforced at the database level rather than in the user interface alone:
- weekly picks are not visible to any other user, including the Commissioner, until the applicable pick window closes
- draft comments are visible only to their author, permanently, and are not visible to the Commissioner
- submissions made to a Commissioner are visible only to that Commissioner
- season predictions are visible to the League
- billing information is visible only to the Commissioner; Members do not see amounts paid
6.Retention
We retain League data for the duration of an active League so that Episodes may reference the season. Following cancellation, League data is retained for 30 days and is then deleted.
Your email address may be retained beyond that period for product and marketing communications. You may unsubscribe at any time or request deletion. We may retain information for longer where required to comply with a legal obligation, resolve a dispute or enforce our agreements.
7.Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to the personal information we hold about you, a copy of it in a portable format, correction of inaccurate information, or its deletion. You may also withdraw consent to marketing communications at any time.
Submit requests through the contact form. We will respond within 30 days, or such shorter period as applicable law requires. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Deleting your account removes your personal information. Episodes already produced may continue to reference a team name, as they are fixed recordings of past events.
8.United States state privacy rights
Residents of California, and of other states with comparable privacy legislation, have the rights described in section 7, together with the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. For the purposes of the California Consumer Privacy Act, the categories of personal information we have collected in the preceding twelve months are: identifiers; commercial information; internet or other electronic network activity information; audio and electronic information; and inferences drawn from the foregoing. The sources, purposes and categories of recipient are described in sections 2 to 4.
We have not sold personal information, and have not shared it for cross-context behavioral advertising, in the preceding twelve months. There is accordingly no sale or sharing to opt out of. You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.
9.Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it. If you believe a child under 13 has registered, notify us through the contact form.
Commissioners must be 18 or over. Members between 13 and 17 require the consent of a parent or legal guardian, as set out in section 3 of the Terms of Service.
10.Security
We maintain administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access within a League is enforced by database-level authorization rules. No method of transmission or storage is entirely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11.International users
The Service is operated from the United States, and personal information is processed and stored there. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you consent to that transfer and processing.
12.Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Where a change materially affects how we use your personal information, we will notify you by email at the address associated with your account before it takes effect.
13.Contact
Questions or requests may be submitted through the contact form.
